Could easily be the most informative race of the day. Tumuch (335,000) versus Port Joulain (300,000). All for €5,900. Both looked good on debut, but I really liked the first named.

A nice type who will handle this ground. It's a race we like to try and win because the Doc was a pal of mine. I asked Patrick to put one aside for this so hopefully he's got it right.

Big drift on Tumuch. I can only assume the ground is seen as a big negative, but if that is true, why run? Probably madness, but I'm going to stick with him. Certainly the most impressive point winner I have seen this season.

Who is the Doc as referred to in race title please?
Report mrcombustible • March 9, 2024 11:39 AM GMT
I am guessing that it is the late Brendan Doyle from Carlow who died last year only in his 60s.i remember Willie was a friend going back to the 70s

Time flies Mr C, especially as you get older.

Knew him since they were teenagers, no wonder he likes to win the race.

Won it for the Doc, look 2 nice horses first 2.

market 1 me 0

You have to wonder why the market knew that Tumuch wouldn't handle conditions (he can't be as bad as that run suggests), but Elliott seemingly didn't. You surely don't send a 300,000+ horse out to finish legless.

The Elliott horse ran as the market suggested

What a ridiculous after timing comment. As if no good horse has started out by beating rubbish. What a pity you weren't around to stop them shelling out 335,000.

This coming from someone who likened an Irish pointer to the next coming of Arkle. I think it won one race in it's career. It still remains the most embarrassing thread ever created on here.

I remember the Doc well always liked to seeing him come on the racecourse one of the best signals Willies was well fancied R.I.P....
