If Everton were playing down the bottom of my garden, I'd draw the curtains.

Why would you back a 1/3 shot that will be seeing stars if the opponent lands one decent punch on his boat? Francis might be inexperienced but few boxers could survive a good punch from him, he can switch from Southpaw to Orthodox and AJ might not see one coming especially if he decides to go forward early.

Tyson Fury a better boxer than Joshua, and he had massive difficulty against him. Just wish I could trust boxing judges though...

50p on.
Report maleuk01. • March 8, 2024 7:35 PM GMT
Agree with Rico, an MMA fighter 1 pro boxing fight, lost to a very undercooked Fury (he thought it was an easy pay day) versus a top 5 boxer in the world at heavyweight.

above evens for Joshua win inside the distance would be my play

2/7 with the books not my cup of tea (1 punch can change that), but 2.04 stoppage win for AJ seems fair.
Report s.kenbo • March 8, 2024 7:49 PM GMT
I know very little about boxing or MMA. I did see the Fury fight and thought the other bloke looked dangerous in that. AJ seems so have been seen as a bit of a joke since losing to the fat Mexican. I certainly wouldn’t be surprised to wake up in the morning and see that AJ had lost.
Report CagliariG • March 8, 2024 7:53 PM GMT
Hedging mamaluke? That is the most limp wristed post I have ever seen on here, either AJ wins or does not?

Stoppage I would want 3/1 V 1/3 just to win, would bet neither, had small for me Francis and 4 , 5 or 6 @ 28/1 which coincidentally is the same as Foyles had with Rico but was never paid!!!
Report Rico-Dangleflaps • March 8, 2024 7:59 PM GMT
pretendee bets win fck hall tobymuglugs.
Report maleuk01. • March 8, 2024 7:59 PM GMT
no hedging, just think AJ is more likely a stoppage win than not, so odds against seems fair.
Report CagliariG • March 8, 2024 8:11 PM GMT
Rico, you lose EVERY time, show us yours in a photo and as always I will show you mine?

Male, if you think AJ is so much a certainty why not just 1/3 outright?

You said after me, one punch and you were right tbh, but AJ could hit Francis several times and not put him down, the other way there is no way AJ survives one on the snout?

I only boxed 7 official bouts, 6 @ Light Middle and lost one @ Middle still weighing in at LM, a stone difference behind a punch and all muscle?

28/1 seems better than 3/1 imvho?

Fairplay to Joshua he proved it in this one.

Still don't understand how he got dominated by Usyk though...
Report Rico-Dangleflaps • March 9, 2024 1:05 AM GMT
dont think he wanted back then and he imploded after that loss..looks in better shape body & soul now..but lets not forget..he's just beaten a bloke thats never won a boxing match.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 1:05 AM GMT
Usyk's a great fighter, but a light heavyweight.
Report Angela Rebecchi • March 9, 2024 1:07 AM GMT
Usyk is a phenomenally skilled boxer. Francis is a brute but a very limited boxer.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 1:10 AM GMT
Yep, don't get me wrong, I'd rate Usyk amongst the greatest fighters of all time.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 1:11 AM GMT
More what surprised me against Joshua was the level of dominance he managed against a far bigger fighter.
Report penzance • March 9, 2024 1:24 AM GMT

Ngannou, a feted former mixed martial arts heavyweight champion.    Says it all for me.
Report maleuk01. • March 9, 2024 10:41 AM GMT
well didn't wait long for the evens to pay out. Grin
Report stu • March 9, 2024 11:01 AM GMT
People saying Ngannou is not a boxer - strictly true, but two points on that.

He managed to 'box' perfectly well against Fury (a world champion)

Boxing is a part of the MMA skillset, though not all of course.

No sure he was a complete non-boxer given that.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 11:02 AM GMT
Very decent result for Joshua IMO - if he did face Fury, would be a very interesting fight now.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 11:04 AM GMT

The heavyweight division of the sport is just a shadow of it what it once was.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 11:46 AM GMT
I find it quite interesting though sparrow - quite a few challenging, Usyk, Fury, now Joshua and even fighters like Parker coming back up.

Next few fights (big ones) could be very interesting. Fury v Usyk is hard to find a favourite looking at market. Wouldn't write of Joshua coming back.

There's no one totally dominant which is a bit like middleweights in the 80s a great period.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 11:51 AM GMT
Biggest thing that seems to have changed in heavyweights is lack of top US fighters - there's more British!
Report sparrow • March 9, 2024 11:55 AM GMT
I'm afraid I don't rate any heavyweight of the present era stu but people seem happy to watch and pay so why worry. Inn my view none of them would have lasted very long against Lennox Lewis.
Report stu • March 9, 2024 11:59 AM GMT
Always really hard to compare across eras - when they never meet directly.

It's like the old Tyson vs Ali debate, which will never be decided...
Report sparrow • March 9, 2024 12:07 PM GMT
I don't see the current crop of heavyweights in the same class as such as Tyson, Ali, Lewis and I could go on about the champions of the past I've seen right back to Marciano.
