I turned off when he came on.
I enjoyed Jonathan Burke and Ben Pauling.
Mottershead still thinks the debate on gambling restrictions will make a difference, petitions don't work.

LM quite astonishing, thinking/hoping that a Labour gvnt will come to his rescue. And they won't try to completely outlaw fox hunting, should they get elected Crazy

Ben Pauling is a successful horse racing trainer with a life. So I don't necessarily blame him. He represents joe public in a way. Hoping that 'the government' won't impose draconian changes that are non sensical, as they are non sensical. Ben, this has already been happening for a decade.

Think they need to realise its not all about gambling its about stopping animal sports and this is there way of choking horse racing to death instead of an all out ban.
The petition needs to be 'Save our Sport'.

His job is to report in it, so should be all over it. Yet he seems to think it's happening because of the current political leaders. They really have no clue.

Here's one for you today, Ben. One of the biggest girls' football leagues in the country faces being shut down by the Football Association for refusing to allow a boy to play in its matches.

Nothing that Mottershead said regarding fox hunting was so obviously wrong. That doesn't mean Labour shouldn't clamp down as hard as possible on hunts flouting the current law. There were some saying that banning fox hunting would somehow be the death knell of racing - of course it wasn't - and it's probably the same people getting a bit hot under the collar again. If hunting was kicked into touch in all guises (becoming much easier to police) then I am sure there is enough money out there if people wanted to continue point-to-pointing on some scale.

He claimed that Labour wouldn't do it (even though they are saying they will) due to it being politically too difficult. That is palpably wrong. He will need to appease the far left should they win power. I fail to see in which world it would be too politically difficult. I have no idea what impact it would have on horse racing.

ptp in ireland is basically professional and the top 7 or 8 in betting for chelt foxhunters are from ire,pro jocks rode the hunters during covid, itn would just be a quicker way for the big yards to take over hunter chasers
