Been off since last June, presumably had a problem?
Plus never run on the surface before Against a recent CD winner open to any improvement on second run I won't be a backer or layer in this one, Wazza |

By:
2nd in the Coventry with subsequent Group 1 and 2 winners behind him, fair to say his form reads well, so why de feck is he running in a class 5 novice at Newcastle in early March, even if it is worth £8K to the winner?
you laying it George? Nah. |
By:
Maybe it's a prep run for Dubai?
By:
it seems the horse was out injured and I think there is a bit more detail in this interview but it's behind a paywall

Cheers scoobytoo, I could see it mentioned the horse being sidelined, but evidently they didn't elaborate on what the issue was.

By sire sensation Blue Point and a half-bruv to terrific Tapeta performer Doctor Khan Junior, against a precocious 2YO who'd been out injured...It was there for all to see....
By:
given a ride that suggests they didn't know what they had fitness wise. Beaten by a smarter jockey on the day

betting says alls well.
hollie sez he's fine and fit n well hollies put you away rico, he wasn't. costly ?? |

By:
Well beaten. It was very strange a horse with Group 1 form running here today.

Archie says still on target for the Commonwealth Cup (nap)
By:
Just looking at the head-on there, the winner's deffo got a bit more size and scope about him
By:
Didn't actually run too bad, but winner was too tough today.
Would be interesting to see how they go on from here.. |
By:
look lads...rico telt ya last nite '1.4 has to be value'
5-45pm its 1.2... wd rico. |
By:
"Just looking at the head-on there, the winner's deffo got a bit more size and scope about him" No doubt about that George. Looks a classic case of a two year old being overated ( fav ) and possibly not training on aswell.
By:
wasnt overated..but missing in action for 7 mths..new surface..market/hollie sed alls well..
ewe nah the dance. |
By:
Wasn't overated but is now. In 6 months time, higher or lower ? I'm going under 100
By:
prob ran to 90 ish yest...cant see 20 pund inproovement.
By:
Exactly!
By:
Still say he got too high a rating in the first place. But yeah the handicapper didn't drop him so he's with you. I think he's wrong. Bradsell ( future G1 winner )ran next time off 114 after winning the Coventry (2022 ) impressively from a subsequent G2 winner & twice G1 2nd. Royal Scotsman 3rd. It was a much better race than 2023.

By:
Agree, 2yo form red hot but that was then and this is now. Could pick up something short term but percentage call on the downgrade
