You don't get to do both. Once there you stay there. Personally i'd go back to about 1986 when all the bad decisions started. New life, correct decisions. Unfortunately I wouldn't have met my lovely wife.

you see if you go forward you could always circle the globe in your time machine and wait for time to catch up with you and drop back in ,in the present time.but don't take my word for it,its Albert Einstein who proved it can be done in his law of relativity.
