I think he was undercooked, and the distance stretched his stamina to the limit. Also, he was never placed to launch a serious challenge or win.

Before introduction of All-Weather I can't recall Southwell being a turf flat course like Wolves where Diminuendo and Aliysa (to name 2) ran.
