Bonnie Prince Charlie would definitely have been descended from Charlemagne. In his case possibly legitimately ( depends whether any Queens had it off with the milkman over the course of 900 years or so ).

Apart from royalty

I’ve been doing family research for 35 years , getting back further than around the early 1700s is impossible 99 times out of a 100; half of the trees on such as ancestry are full of errors and/or guesswork or bullshit

Dna results have  given plenty of people a surprise father,every generation you go back you are trusting that nobody ever had an affair.
