Is this some sort of a novelty race, or just a weird coincidence?!

looks like some sort of stakes race for lightly raced horses. Maybe they just go into the race by alphabetical order or something like that. maybe all the L's will race at the next meeting.

aqps i assume...horses bred in a particular year have to be named with the same letter first
