Tigerbythetail did seem to roll around the final bend, but I thought Gina Andrews got it straightened out in time to jump the last. Not sure what she did wrong, not many would have stayed in the plate after that mistake, just unlucky.

She has a decent record, but thought she looked all over the place, and over-riding for no reason going into that last, so...splat.

Golden rules of National Hunt Horse Racing.
Rule 1. Horses fall. Rule 2. The best jockeys in the world can`t change Rule 1. |

Interesting one though, she was almost trying to pull it up once it got near the fence..after careering towards it...

I agree felt - so then why do we reify certain jockeys in that case, all just luck...?

Not sure why the need for a pile of excuses, just not enough impetus going into the last. I would be surprised if she didn't know that herself.

i'd be surprised if any last second action on her part was through panic . look at gina's riding record including aintree and cheltenham as well as numerous hunter chases and ptp championships . she is a proper horsewoman .

It did look indecisive to me. Harry Kane has scored hundreds of goals but can still miss a sitter from six yards. Horses falling when clear at the last can be down to a lot of things, and one of those is the jockey not quite knowing whether to intervene or allow the horse do its own thing. Part and parcel of jump racing, you'll always get last obstacle fallers, and the jockey will nearly always think they should have done something different if it has happened to them.

The thing to take away from the race is the fact that it looked a very good horse with a great engine.blundered through lots of fences yet still ran away at end of race.i always think when they are fooling around like that theres plenty in the tank.brush up its jumping and you have a serious young horse there imvho.
