Ah thanks swifty. They told me by email that due to "evolving regulations" my acc was closed So to be clear I emailed back and asked if it meant that UK players were not allowed now They repeated "evolving regulations" and didnt comment on UK players specifically
Real shame. A great site for foreign streaming.

I had an email on Friday informing me of account closure, i guess you had the same (see below for copy). It wasn't a big deal, i only used to use it to watch French racing years ago, but i use others sites now. I vaguely remember depositing 50 euros because there was a mark up offer of sorts (50% bonus ?).

Dear Customer,
In view of the evolution of current regulations and at the regulator's request we are required to close your account.
We would like to thank you for your loyalty during all these years.

Certainly not UK, but either Sweden or Germany; it was a good few years ago and i simply can't remember. When i read the email i just assumed they closed as it was 'dormant', i can't even remember the last time i used it.

So not Uk specific then. Seems like they may be having a generic clear out with a spurious reason given. As I say, I cant see any info to changes in the Maltese gaming licence using google. They were bought over in sept 2023 is all I've read.

it's illegal for a business not licensed with the ukgc to offer gambling to uk players, so either the ukgc told them to stop or the ukgc told malta to tell them to stop.

I was going to add that germany has brought in licensing laws within the last couple of years and I think Sweden has as well as I remember a comment about poker **** being illegal there. Basically almost every european country wants firms to be licensed and if a company wants to avoid legal issues it either gets a license or withdraws from the country.

Back in time i had a legal Betfair.com account registered with a Barclays Bank UK account from circa 2003 to around 2018 when i was posting as Andrew in Sweden without the dots. New regulations came into force and BF/UK closed it (nothing to do with Brexit).
I could still have a Betfair.se account in Sweden, but there is no UK horse racing on it. Irrespective of what one particular poster states, you can access Betfair.com in Sweden, Germany and many European countries, but you need a VPN, there are actually several posters in Germany doing exactly that.

When i first joined Betfair, i was posting as Ex-Pat in Germany (not in München then) but i returned to work at Saab in 2006 and changed my profile a little later, i think 2007.
