Forgotten his name, may have been a schoolteacher, trained a 14/15 yo to win 2 staying chases a few days apart at Chepstow and either Warwick or Stratford about 10/12 years ago. Something like Goldsworth, horse i'm thinking of had a race named after it at Hereford i think, 3 words in it's name. Any help appreciated.
Crikey, nearly 18 years ago, hasn't had a runner since 2014, time certainly flies the older you get, i was at Stratford for that 2nd win, after seeing it win at Chepstow 5 days before, 6m 4fs over jumps just with a 5 day rest.

Anyone remember Keith Lewis ex welsh trainer, jockeys that rode for him included Alan Webb, Ron Hyett, Jeff King and others.
He trained the 1978 Midland's GN winner Kick on ridden by Ron Hyett. He was based at Picton in Pembrokeshire. As you say he was a former amateur jockey, competed in show-jumping events and officiated at point to point meets. Appears to be most associated as a leading Bloodstock agent and found horses like Prideaux Boy and Viking Flagship for his close friend Graham Roach. He passed away in 2007, aged 64 after losing his battle with cancer.

LEIF I was at Bangor years ago when Welsh Jester ran off the course and impaled itself on the iron gate, when looking like winning, just cocked its head and bolted up the pathway. Also remember a horse called Chancers Last which Alan Webb used to ride..

His name was Allen* Webb; He was apprenticed to David Nicholson for 5 years. He won the 1978 Grand Annual on Young Arthur for David Kent and the 1982 Triumph Hurdle for Dina Smith
He won three Nationals – The Midlands, Swedish and Jersey Nationals, "I had a great time.”
He retired from race riding at the age of 38 and these days runs a very successful business – Mangan and Webb Saddlery – which is based in Stow.
“We make the lightest racing saddles in the world,” said Webby with obvious pride. “They’re made out of carbon fibre and weigh 11oz. AP McCoy used them throughout his career and Richard Johnson uses them now.”
