more amazing is the amount of ground it gave up by veering all over the shop
One of those where layers were correct it would be out on it's feet crossing the line - sadly so were the rest of the field 
Imagine trying to win 20 quid or so at 1000 and losing nearly 20 grand in a hit - wouldn't want to talk to the missus after that!
