Nigeria 'score' to make it 2-0 with 3 minutes to go...

VAR tells the ref to look at the screen for a possible penalty for South Africa...

REF gives the penalty to South Africa...

South Africa score...

1-1...

the graph on South Africa shows bets matched at 1000...

but the data to the right of the graph only shows 120 being the highest matched...

i'd love an explanation please Patrick ?

The bets are voided by Betfair due to VAR?

This is a level of skullduggery not seen since the days of Hansi Cronje.

And betfair lose again on the 90 minute bets lol

DRAW matched at 60 according to the graph...

9.2 according to the data to the right...

All bets are wiped during certain periods of VAR and incidents from it. Bit of a minefield. The graph doesn't update correctly often so may still show the wiped bets.

Probably matched at 60 while it was ‘2-0’. As Ange says, will be voided.

Soccer
If Betfair does not suspend a market on time for the occurrence of a Material Event (as defined in Part B of these Rules and Regulations above), Betfair reserves the right to void bets matched after the Material Event has occurred. Voiding of these bets may take place during the event or retrospectively once a game is completed.
Where a Material Event (as defined in Part B of these Rules and Regulations above) is cancelled due to a determination made via a video assistant referee, Betfair will void all bets which are matched between the occurrence of the Material Event and the cancellation of it. The voiding of any such bets may take place during the event or retrospectively once a game is completed.
For the avoidance of doubt, where a video assistant referee ruling results in the award of a Material Event (as defined in Part B of these Rules and Regulations above), such Material Event will be deemed to have occurred at the time at which the video assistant referee commences a review relating to such (ultimately awarded) Material Event. In such circumstances, bets matched prior to the time at which the video assistant referee commences a review will not be voided.

so Angela...

are you saying that South Africa WAS matched at 1000...

and Betfair voided those bets coz VAR was in progress ?

that seems the most utterly hideous thing i have ever heard in my life tbh...

not having a go at you Angela...

but if the bets were matched they should stand imv...

tough t1tty for whoever layed the bet imv.

These VAR rules have been in place for ages. It's hard to tell at what stages they will void bets, and often bets are voided way after a match (so you could face a hefty loss a day after having thought you had won). I agree with you and think as with all other sports they should let the market remain open and free

Agreed but it seems those are the rules as AR says

of course they should Angela...

that's just pure madness imv.

I guess it's to keep liquidity as 95% of in play domestic matches people have no pictures. But for matches with pictures they should keep the market free and open.

i'd love to know who actually layed the 1000 and the 60 tbh...

i wonder if hulk might have a suggestion ?

what next ?

voiding photo finish bets cause the original winner gets chucked out in a subsequent Stewards Enquiry ?

ridiculous imv.

someone backs the 2nd at 1000 on the run in...

bing bong goes...

2nd gets the race...

eh sorry we are voiding your 1000 bet on the original 2nd coz there was a stewards enquiry and it's not fair on the layer...

hideous imv.

Nigeria 3-1 up on penalties...

South Africa 2 pens left...

why did Betfair suspend the market ?

and then re-open when South Africa scored...

it's madness tbh.

I just saw the penalties. What a racist country SA is, not a white player in sight.
I remember a furore because our ladies team didn't have enough black players.

It's odd hibb, my daughter is well travelled and she spent two months in Cape town
working on one of those TV shows. She went all over with other girls and no minders, absolutely loved it.

Use to travel quite a lot there because of a company I worked for so still friends with quite a lot be people.

Anyways take aways…

Saturday night trips back to London from Joburg were something. There would be so many people making the trip Emirates would have back to back planes 30 minutes apart.

The country speed tested a lot of the woke stuff many years ago so if you are white you were basically passed over for jobs and promotions so those who could leave have left.

It’s a helluva thing to go to an interview and see the colour of the candidates and know straight away you ain’t getting it…just forget the interview and go home.

As you imagine…whilst this is a great opportunity for some people it kinda puts your company at risk because they don’t have the necessary experience or qualifications.

Unfortunately this sort of thing is starting to happen here now but with LGBT / gender etc etc

Sadly it’s something I experienced and had to move companies :(

Best night out I’ve had was a Friday night racing at Greyville followed by a night out in Durban.

Lovely race track of you get the chance up to go and Durban itself is lovely.

I woke up the next day thinking wtf happened…walked into my bathroom and sneezed all over the mirror and when I looked up there was white powder all over the mirror from the sneeze.

I remember being at the airport a couple hours later and being scared to sneeze when one of them sniffer dogs walked past Laugh
