They've left out the option of taking SP, a fundamental and longstanding feature of British bookmaking. Who on earth is going to take the artificially reduced prices on offer when most will drift?
By:
They've gone back to the old page (for the moment!)
By:
Now they've gone back to the new version. They don't know what the fk they're doing.
By:
Mine reverted back to the old version yesterday and has remained so ever since
By:
I withdrew 90% of the money I had in betfair and only left a few bop in because I got outright bets running.
I'll be betting with bet 365. TERRIBLE, the new site. Absolutely terrible! Makes you wonder who the f@k creates such shait! |

its here to stay lads if so im off its brutal
By:
i have just left feedback saying I refuse to even try to use it at least until the Take SP option is reinstated.
Suggest everyone trialling this (50% of account holders apparently) feeds back a similar message. Thought about doing an e/w double today first leg of which was Ridin Solo. I was offered 3/1 with no choice, horse started 4/1....enough said. |
By:
ttt for statebuget
Apparently just a trial at the moment... |
By:
Can't believe they've permanently stopped people from taking SP...thought it must be a glitch in the new site.
By:
was on the chat earlier madhatter and the guys said its coming in gradually and its here to stay, im not impressed its the reason i use this site

So with the the advantages gone and now the crap new layout, whats the point in betting with betfair.
By:

Mine is still the same. It hasn't changed one bit.
By:
Mine changed too but the old cashout page is back to the previous again.
By:
Mine changed to the new format over the weekend. What a pile of shyte; unusable for me as not prepared to only accept crappy prices with no SP option. Thankfully this morning it was back to normal.

Obviously much more popular than I would have imagined. Still good things always come to an end.

My fear is Betfair is trying to create the same scenario as all the bookie apps on mobile phones. As I discovered on holiday (forgot my tablet) last year, OK for getting a bet on but no way of reasonably assessing a race or studying form or tracking prices easily. Back in its heyday the exchange was breath of fresh air but with more savvy players and especially bots and poor liquidity no longer an easy medium to bet on profitably. The three bookies I can still use, have consistently diluted value in recent times, with restrictions or removal of bog and offers. Bet365 no longer offer me anything, if they decide to restrict me I will be in a panic.

I'm not surprised.

By:
Perhaps you should be surprised and actually note the difference.

I'm 99 per cent an exchange player, but do like to throw a few quid at some multiples at the festivals and weekend racing. It's not a disaster if I can't do that but it's annoying, and a further degredation of options. I find it disturbing that they are forcing us to take their risible early prices.
By:
New format is driving me nuts. Why can't they just leave well alone?
By:
Like you ease, I bet singly on the exchange for at least 97/98% of my turnover but now the sportsbook is f8ecked by having to accept their miserly prices it will be 100% and I will forgo the odd weekend multiple
By:
same here madhatter, I won't be taking prices on every horse in a multiple. I'd rather not bother. You need the option of refusing it and having SP. Where did you leave feedback? - not that I expect them to take any notice.
By:
i remember something like this happening on the exchange a few years back. They changed the platform and added a beta software .nothing really happened other than THE BIGGEST FINANCIAL LOSS IN THE HISTORY OF GAMBLING EVER, IS NOW CREDITED TO A MR.P.CUTTER AND THE BETFAIR EXCHANGE.

Mine has changed to the new format now. I'll give it a whirl at the weekend when I usually have a multiple or two.

and back to new again and same problems ffs

Mine has been flip-flopping but was on new yesterday (8th). I reinstalled my system from an Acronis backup from 31st Jan this morning and it has reverted to old again. Might be a coincidence? Although I mostly bet singles on the exchange, if I'm not around to check liquidity near the off, I do bet singles close to the off on the Sports book occasionally. If no SP on the new format continues just can't see myself ever using Sportsbook as prices are mostly gash compared to Bet365. It's quite remarkable to think the days of SP other than on a racetrack might be numbered if others follow suit.
