The Sunday card looks terrific, aside from the 2 m chase (why is that division so consistently cr@p?).

Ronnie

Jodami was a good few years back.

I've only been to Ireland 3 times before, once for the Irish Champions stakes, the DRF last year and an interview at Shannon Airport a lifetime ago (no it wasn't a baggage handler Wink). I love Dublin, a fun city, friendly people and superb racing.

Many would respond by saying "which hotel did your wife stay in" ? ................. but i wouldn't WinkLaugh

disgraceful British trainers dont even attempt to snatch a big prize from Mullins or others with such good prize money up for grabs

Think Greatrex had a Grade 1 winner there a few years ago?
By:
Flemenstar
When: 02 Feb 24 12:28
Looking forward to it but I see some of the happy clappers calling it the perfect racing festival, to me it looks like tiny fields and absolute benefit meeting for Mullins

I'm sure the first couple of years they put it on there was a bit more depth to the races
By:
strontium
When: 02 Feb 24 12:40
Think that's true Flemenstar - de Bromhead and O'Brien had better/more good horses than they currently do, and Elliott seems to be ducking it more nowadays.

But Mullins has so many good horses, it's a treat to see them run against each other - and we should be grateful he doesn't just pick one for each race, because then it really would be poor. The five handicaps are also fiendish.

Any fancies? Looks a nice card.

1.20 Predators Gold or or Jetara
3.00 Fine Margin
4.10 Madara and Hensee both look overpriced?
4.40 A Dream To Share, happy to get 2.2, would surely be odds on if trained by Mullins?

the 13.50 looks interesting lots of unexposed potential improvers and a decent sized field to boot no point backing anything tonight but bog kicks in around 8 am tommoz so should have made up my mind by then .have already backed i am maximus at 33s on savills form  he has no chance with the fav but that one has got to back that performance  up ,he probably will the odds tell us he is the obvious winner but 33s just looks too big imo and if the fav fails to fire he could pick up the pieces  win bet and prob a rev forcast with the fav tommoz .

Lacks the strength in depth of Cheltenham.?
You have to laugh.
Cheltenham is not in the same class as this.

Good luck Foyles, J.P. won the race a few years back with another no-hoper, Edwolf, I think it was.
Turned out he had a "fun" bet of 5000 euro on at 50s and 33s.

thanks nogoogdy im gonna need the luck and plenty of it but maximus is progressive and tho 20 plus lengths to make up on galopin could be the heavy ground didnt suit ,in all probability the front 2 fight out the finish but its racing and anything can happen.

Strangely enough, Maximus has no entries for Cheltenham, apropos of nothing, Conflated is fav. for the Cross Country at the festival, I can't figure out where that's coming from.
I do think J.P.s Park of Kings has a severe chance in the 3.00, he's carrying **** all and hopefully will stay the 3 miles, was 33s during the week and is nothing like that now. Must have a real shout if the handbrake's off.

Just emphasises if Elliott and De Bromhead are not strong how the cupboard is relatively bare. Punters left with a choice of taking short odds or the handicaps. Not a great choice for many. I can't get too excited about watching small fields and Mullins v Mullins. I see the Racing Post have flagged up that Blackmore is being backed despite 1/23 in the last two weeks with loads of seconds. She looks weaker and weaker in a finish. The strange thing is that she doesn't seem to realise that it might be an idea to have races in the bag before the last. That's how she used to ride. I would probably have gone Jetara in the opener had Kennedy been able to take the ride.

High class horses no doubt but competitive? I don't think so other than the handicaps.

What a great 2 days ahead top class horses, at least itv showing 2 races today and 5 Sunday as they don’t usually like the bookie non friendly races
