TF have just out up their summary of the result of the claiming hurdle at Lmerick this afternoon, won at 8/1 by a gelding that ran in a 0-135 event last time. They open with the line "As uncompetitive as it gets.." OK, it might not be the highest class race ever run, but can I point out that just about every single novice event run over jumps in Ireland outside of the Summer months, (and plenty then as well), is highly likely to contain an odds on favourite trained by a certain trainer, including one on the this same card. Now THAT'S uncompetitive. So much so that it's just not worth bothering to look at those races anymore.
