This is a gambling stable. They normally punt their winners in.
Odds on for this thing..err no. Watch it in the right grade when they bet it in. Horse likes to sit 3rd or 4th off a good pace with more runners. |

He gambled on getting a run but the winner has won well and it wasn't really closing late on.

what grade would that be though?
this was a 45-55 h'cap for fodder. Horse is yr old and is no better than his h'cap mark. |

All about opinions. My instructions would have been simple to Russell....get out quick and do a Peter Scu. If beat, no excuses.

stumbled start, soon switched left and recovered tracking leaders in close 3rd on inside, not clear run and switched left over 1f out, switched back right inside final furlong, never going pace to get involved

Leaving the stalls, the Steward noted that INEXPLICABLE (IRE), placed third, stood on its left-fore with its left-hind resulting in the gelding tripping badly and being slowly away as a result, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Harry Russell reported that INEXPLICABLE (IRE), placed third, ran flat. |

so that explains it.

It looked like he got boxed in and no gap appeared in time so he had to go out wide - however, why not say that rather than the horse ran flat - bit odd

Correct Rico, cost me £300 in returns as 3rd leg of a short priced treble (6/5) but would not have touched it at the SP, no complaints about the jockey and happy for stewB to resume normal service.
