I was there yesterday and have been many many times , again I was struck by the splendour of the place, its majesty even ,compared to other courses..Its simply a magical place and i fully understand the reverence its held in...I also had one of my worse days punting there yesterday...Luckily I got it all back and a little more today at Naas...

Always remember my first course visit the year Ten Up won the Gold Cup , ruined a good suit and expensive pair of shoes in atrocious weather.

I remember that Hayden. It was the last winner I bet. Arkle colours.

I tried to check the race as I thought that I had bet Ten Up and Bruslee in it. Two singles and a reverse fc but the clip only shows the last couple of fences. Mind you it was a long time ago. Bruslee was a big favourite of me. Won a small fortune ante-post when it won the Mackeson with Andy Turnell aboard. Didn`t stay the Gold Cup distance. Here is Ten Up in the Gold Cup. Great race it was.

my fav memory of chelt was meeting a fellow owner in the bar after a race at a nov meeting, it had been absolutely hammering down all afternoon, he was blissfully unaware that the product he'd used to dye and thicken his otherwise non existent hair had dissolved and leaked all over his beige mac
