Horse just didn’t seem to be on it today for whatever reason
previously sound jumper all of a sudden makes uncharacteristic shocking blunder for a new pair of hands...
He done well to stay on Jonbon and nearly won the race.

Jonbon looked a bit scratchy coming up the hill. The mistake might have caused a problem. Interesting to see how he comes out of this race.
Bowen continually kept getting the horse half lengthed, absolutely couldn't have been more thick a ride.

Jonbon's best runs have been with a more forceful ride and making its mind up at the fence, Bowen just likes to sit on a horse and not move his hands.
He won't be riding Jonbon again I think we can all agree on that.

Hendo is running 3 in the 2.35pm at Doncaster; he must like the ground a lot to run 3. Has Bowen be allocated the right horse ie Maries Rock; 2.36 shortie here.

You can have an opinion about what could have happened with another jockey up but how can you possibly be sure that the horse wouldn't have made the same mistakes?

I heard an ex champ say there is a big difference between a jockey and a‘horseman’ the dealer….
Feel the one sided criticism is based on opinions already haven been made , it's a team effort to jump well , get around safely then hopefully win the race , that applies to every ride in my mind.

He atoned there on Maries Rock. It could have gone either way. I think both times Bowen asked for a "jump" from Maries Rock she mis-jumped; she jumped beautifully when allowed to jump on her own accord. Similar to Jonbon yesterday perhaps.
