I don't know about being good but the owners group is a money making machine.  They sell 3000 shares at around £50 a pop on every horse.that is for a year only. You get a discounted price for the next year if you have a share the previous year. They refill again up to 3000 shares each year for every horse.
Report the dealer January 30, 2024 3:35 PM GMT
That last one was syndicate number 101
Report HappyHibby January 30, 2024 3:44 PM GMT
anyone fancy starting a syndicate ???
Report the dealer January 30, 2024 3:47 PM GMT

Issuing Authority beat a statue last time out. 1.6 was a very strange price. Also ran like a paceless 20F horse last season.
As for the Owners Group, you are never going to make any money but for £1.00 a week you get a monthly magazine and a hair on the horses mane. My Mother in Law loves it and has a share in a lot of the horses.
Report HappyHibby January 30, 2024 3:52 PM GMT
so you pay £50 a year for a share in the horse (for 1 year)...

and you don't even get a monthly magazine ffs ???
Report mfw January 30, 2024 3:54 PM GMT
You get a monthly magazine.
Report the dealer January 30, 2024 3:56 PM GMT
I do agree, its a great way to get people interested in the sport and you don't get much for £50 these days but the 3000 shares every year is a bit Dick Turpin without the mask.
Report SlippyBlue January 30, 2024 4:02 PM GMT
I've got a couple of shares that were a birthday present from my brother last year, namely Grand Albert and Star Player.

You do get the magazine as mfw says and regular stable updates.

I've not applied for owners badges because I can't really be bothered to be in a ballot but for a very small amount of money it's a harmless enough way to feel involved.
