Fav out of the stayers yesterday  to tell you the honest  truth I think the ap game at Cheltenham  has gone what the shop has took this year would  not pay for a decent  breakfast. Hope you are well may I ask did you used to stay at the Bradley  Cheltenham.

Shame, he was making the market for something lurking, don't know what, just something, hope he is OK, would expect retirement to follow sometime down the line, he has been nowhere near the same horse, nowhere near.

duffy - what do you mean 'nowhere near the same horse'? He's won 10 of his last 12 races, was 3rd in the King George, won his last race in a canter, horse has a sore fore and should be back for Punchestown.

The trainer told sportinglife.com: “Unfortunately Allaho will miss Cheltenham this year. He came back with a hind leg strain from Thurles and we gave it a few days to come right and it hasn’t. There isn’t enough time to get him ready for Cheltenham and unfortunately we’ve had to pull the plug.

“We’ll get over this hurdle first before we see if we can get him back for Punchestown.”

5.5 seconds slower than mare  11 out of 12 of the sectionals mare was faster.

He is nowhere near what he was, but he was a monster so in effect he could still be good enough to get the job done as his bar was so high, but from what I've seen it would be highly unlikely.

His first run was nothing more than OK with Janidil keeping a respectful distance behind him, in the KG he was the 4th best horse in a race that wasn't strongly run and last time he doesn't even come out that favourably against the much lower grade mares who ran the same distance earlier on the card.

This is sad news. I think this could be a prelude to his retirement if he does not come back soon; Allaho has nothing to prove. This is sadly part and parcel of a prolific high achiever over fences; the demands and stresses on the horse esp the joints are enormous.

Well he managed to bring Monkfish back after best part of a year off and tendon injury .Hopefully he can do the same with Allaho.

duffy, its all about opinions but his race when beating Janidil was his first race for 561 days, surely a decent performance in that respect?. As for geoff m posting sectionals - geoff they are irrelevant when a horse wins in a canter as Allaho did. Harnonya Makers race was more compeitive and yet was still 32 seconds slower than average, and yes it was 5 seconds faster than Allohas race but one was carrying 11 stone 8lbs and the other 10 stone 12 lbs.

As you say Tiger all about opinions. But did not win a canter to my eye. Appreciate It  ran no race @ all. French Dynamite lost 2 front shoes and had blood in his trachea post race.Stattler was last of 6 on his previous outing and needs another mile. You quote his King George 3rd but again the sectionals are poor when compared with the Kauto Star novices chase. The 3rd in the Kauoto put up a better time performance.

He clearly had lost some of the old sparkle and brilliance eg consistent fluency and big leaps when winning the budget airline races. The result of his 1st race back was "managed". And, he never looked like winning the King George last month.
