By:
Sage, he certainly does
Wazza, 3 out of 6 today, all around 8/1,that's a good day for the lad Got 5 rides tomorrow, mostly nice prices Keep following for a while |

It`s only a matter of time before he is Champion jockey.
By:
... not if, but when? I say within the next 5 years.

the quicker the better, as I would like to still be here to see it

Depends what stable he becomes number 1 for I guess

True Reg, but there is a changing of the guard commencing with Dettori and the likes retiring or getting past it. Young Billy strikes me as a level headed and dedicated young jockey and I think he will land a big job soon. He is also very good with the media which is a big big advantage too. Good luck to the lad!

true. piggott rode his first winner under rules when he was 12, that even puts the darts lad to shame ![]() ![]() (6st 9lb - slightly lighter too) |
By:
Nice lad, but I can't see his eyes!
By:
When does Billy lose his apprentice status?
By:
Don't know about apprentice status, George, but he's ridden 135 winners now according to figures and you lose the last of your allowance (3lb) at 95 winners
By:
Meant to add... That first race at Lingfield he just rode in, was an apprentice race, so can't really answer your question
By:
is there an old one?
By:
I`m pretty sure that have to apply for a professional license within 6 months after they ride their 95th winner, but it may be changed.

Thanks 'Mac

By:
You`re welcome George. I`m pretty sure it remains the same. Good luck!

Devore at 25s is a decent bet in this 2:15

He looks more like a young Lester Piggott every day Reg.-- Some people may think that's a little over the top. I never saw Piggott as a young jockey so who knows but I do know this is the best young jockey I've ever seen and by some way. From from the very outset he was happy to make the running and obviously he never got it right every time but he certainly got it right most of the time. I don't know if he will turn out to be a Piggott but he has a chance that's for sure.

Some ride that! Ran rings around them.
By:
If you mean the 8.0 race it was set up for him by idiotic rides up front by Dennis and Farragher.
By:
Picked this one out early yesterday, because I backed it at Dundalk lto and thought why are they bringing it over for a Friday evening, and booking Billy?
Was 9/4 then, drift all day reduced my stake by quite a bit... Idiot |
By:
Yeah but I couldn't resist a half decent pun.

Same here Reg - New Years resolution to stop letting the drift put me off was blown apart last Monday.
By:
I bet his four rides for an interest tonight in an accumulator. 3 to place and the odds on shot to Win at odds of 28/1 for a score. Odds on shot went 4/6 and got beat (2nd) and other three got placed, lol. Would have been a nice return for a score.

Ha ha steerforth
A drift doesn't normally put me off, but it does when I think I've found a plotted up one, if that makes sense |
By:
Not just golfers that yet the yips!
By:
Mighty mac, bad luck there, did an ew Yankee myself so all 4 placed makes a profit
The odds on one ran a strange race, looked like dropping out of the frame, then picked up last 100 yards... Perhaps that's why he's run 2nd 3 from 3? |
By:
It was Reg. Looked well beat, then ran on again for 2nd. I wish it had been the last leg. I would have layed it off for a nice profit.
