No more horseracing for me until the Cheltenham Festival; Dublin is a watching brief for pointers. Then welcoming the Flat season with open-arms.

Jimnast, I gave up the drink on 1st May last year, so 8 months now
Had to because of health worries
A by product is losing 2 stones, got another 2 to go for target... Would be there by now if it wasn't for eating a few comfort foods to compensate

I've been drinking 0% Guinness instead, it's a lovely drink
Got the widget in the bottom of the can, so pours out nice
And only £1 a can at most supermarkets

Good luck with your dry month

Alcohol free Guinness, whatever next? Don't lose weight too quickly Reg, you'll go all saggy.

Thanks reg
As it happens I’m of now for a couple of pints the post was something someone sent me which I found amusing.

Well done in your achievement and hopefully your health will improve even more as I’m sure you know it’s much more important than anything other than family.

Cheers Jim, health already better thanks
Not missing the booze at the moment but we'll see how it goes

Stewarts, no chance of anything going saggy
It's nice to look down and see my pride and joy again...
Instead of only in a mirror!

More walks in the reserves Reg when it dries up a bit. I only drink a glass of wine with a meal at weekends and fairly fit for a 79yo.
