Newbury switching after 19 years Ascot initial decision . Why? Do they get a percentage from advertising? If so that makes sense given ATR is 80% adverts.

So long as we can avoid the amount of split screen viewing on RTV then it must be a good move.

Would be great if sky got the lot….

No, but it would have been better if they had also lost that breakaway irish group of courses. In terms of viewing races the closer they get to 50/50 the better. Couldn't care less about presenters as they are poor on both sides.

From a subscribers view, what RTV needs is multiple channels.

When RTV began as RUK it had two channels 432 and 433 at night for the US Racing.

Think there was a red button choice as well

I imagine ATR will do a good job with Newbury, as they do at Ascot - they throw a lot at it as a flagship track.

As a viewer, I just want to avoid split screens on major races. I don't watch any of the analysis/fluff surrounding the races anyway.

My New Years wish regarding the televised racing is never to hear Fitzgerald again by a million miles the worst of all time, and that’s some achievement.

Tomorrow the split is 6/1, and Southwell is currently unraceable.

Yes, Sky throw their version of the kitchen sink at Ascot (I think it is wrong that they have to share Champion's Day), and will no doubt do similar with Newbury. They could do with capturing another big track.

Southwell OFF.

I completely agree Jimnast, he totally does my head in as well.
Not only the godawful drawl but his woke sychophancy is absolutely abhorrent.

Rant over.

How can anyone justify that brock channel getting any course?  They have the cheek to talk about in running when they must be 8 - 10 second behind live pictures

Agree should have sorted faster pictures by now,but football on Sky is the same surely they could get faster pictures,if RTV can do it why not Sky.

Yet RTV are even behind the Betfair LV pictures.

But they are a lot quicker than Sky,you watch both channels and betfair pictures on sky they sometimes have not even jumped the last jump when the race is over, whereas RTV are only about 1 second out.

atr is absolute ****, pics unwatchable and miles behind-would kill i/r stone dead. and its on life-support already

it misses the start becuse its showing millions of low-rent ads

i dont care if rtv resembles celebrity fecking squares-anything is better than the garbage channel

presenters uniformly hopeless and gormless-fitzy/chapman/harvey or luck/hislop/gob etc? go away

id like one of its advocates to give one reason why theyd like more racing on atr cos i cant think of one

I just can't understand why when we pay £24.99 a month for RTV that we are still behind the Betfair pictures which cost nothing.

sparrer-thats not a reason to move to atr is it?

it might be because rtv are reliant on sky boxes and dont have any control, but i is a bit fick and dont know or care

rtv online is as rapid a streaming service as ive ever seen so im happy with it and id like you to tell me why youd get rid of it for the filth atr churns out

a zillion-dollar business like sky should be so much better

mitolo, pictures so quick on RTV and yet still behind Betfair LV which costs us nothing.

irrelvant-why do you want more racing on atr?
By:

It's already been explained over and over again why it is a ridiculous to have so much racing on one channel. If you just want to ignore that it's up to you, but don't keep asking for what has already been given.

You would think listening to some that people are only capable of backing horses once the race has started. What does that say about the punter and racing itself? Those who don't bet in running just want to see full screen pictures of a race. My guess is that would be the majority of viewers.

yet more **** from different dumb. your guess is worthless

asking for what numbnut?

if you dont want the facility to bet i/r you are sum mug, but we know that already. and why should everyone else be deprived of it because you are too stupid to work it out?
By:

theres no split screens online

and it doesnt happen that often and its not worth going to the garbage channel for such a limited problem

Didn't RTV split screen the Derby a couple of years ago? Or is that a myth?

With the powers that be in Ireland doubling down on TV bookmaker advertising ban there might not be much to see from Ireland on the racing channels before much longer.
