Unbelievable no stewards enquiry , Racing UK also embarrassing for not mentioning it, Kieran Woods took Walking on Air out after the last, Bowen had to switch and got back to within a neck.. The inconsistency with stewards is beyond belief, Racing in England is at its lowest ebb, unprofessional at every level. In bed with the bookmakers and no way of reversing it to address the lack of investment. Racecourses encourage drinking at every opportunity as a means of maximising profit. Racing post £5 an issue...talk about turning people off.I am fast losing interest.

The lucky last - I assume the stewards wanted to get back to their club for a brandy or 3.
Seriously though, the 2nd had a very good case imo, the head on would have been very interesting, if only RTV could be bothered to show it.. |

I think the jockey of the 2nd said it did not affect the result. Nevertheless, an enquiry ought to have been called at least, and winning jockey possibly reprimanded with a short holiday. But, this is the festive period...bad weather, public transport, etc.

bowen no,s the course lay out he took his horse to inside of the winner at the last and he could have stayed there and gone up rail on the winners inner, was pulling out long before the rail came in to play

Fair enough , haven't seen race just curious

He could have gone up the inside. There was room, but if he had and the winner came across people would have said he should have gone around.
He was closing all the way to the line beaten a neck. So on a straight line without the switch he should have won. |

Was covered in depth on Itv, looked dodgy in real time but when the replay was showed there was more than enough room to challenge on the inside. Unlucky if you were on the second but dems de brakes.

The trouble with making snap judgements is lack of objectivity, I thought there was a slim chance of a reversal until seeing the head on when it was obvious I was not going to collect unless the Stewards were legless drunk.
Had the second stuck to the line he was on before they got to the rail he would have either ended up running into the rail or having to swerve like Champ did, it might have looked like he had time to sneak up the inside but imo not a chance unfortunately. |
