He had everything you'd want in a chaser. Once he got into a rhythm he jumped like a stag and would leave everything he had out on the track. A very well deserved retirement I'd say.

Cheers Noc. Hope you're doing well my friend. What was your favourite Frodon race? I know most will say his King George and I think that's very fair. But for me his win in the Ryanair was my own personal favourite.

WP ... Most certainly not the Ryanair,I was sat there with a few Aso tokens, that was the 2nd time he'd chinned one of mine.
The third time was 24 Oct 2020,when he showed a clean pair of hooves to West Approach at Cheltenham, who I thought was really well handicapped.
Back in 3rd was Cloth Cap,who next time out proceeded to blow away the field in the big newbury handicap.
So in all honesty, late to the party with the horse, despite a couple of people on AP Forum banging his drum for ages.
After a low key 2019/2020 season, where I,m sure he was not quite right,it was that Cheltenham handicap that defined him,for me.
That King George changed my view on plenty of things, not just the horse, but also about how I measured strength in the saddle.

His best race? Down Royal I think. Classy rivals behind, who came to get him, but he stayed on to win. I jumped out of my comfy armchair at that one. But there were so many. Fabulous horse.

Good honest horse, that jump he put in down far side in KG,like a stag, rider and horse in sync, was some spectacle. Seemed to excell in the better races, done me a few favours over the years and fair play to PN for running in KG last two years.

Never done me any favours over the years but he is still worthy of my very best wishes. An admirable racehorse, as honest as the day is long and not at all far short of the very best. I do tend to agree with 1tp though. As I am sure everybody knows.

I'm glad you got on the Fordon train at some point Noc!
Do you mean getting a horse into a good rhythm over fences is of much more importance than strength in the saddle? I totally agree.
Happy New Year to yourself and all the chaps on here. There's some good looking cards to start 2024. Off to my local course if it doesn't get called off. But I really like the look of the Newcastle card.
