And i might be wrong but not one English entry.
By:
Now if that is right that is a fakin absolute disgrace.

By:
It’s time the uk got a proper Christmas festival
By:
Yes if the Oirish can knock up a few Mikey Mouse Grade 1s surely we could do the same.
By:
I forgot to mention there is also a Grade 2 there as well, why they did not go the whole hog and make that a Grade 1 God only knows.

By:
We wouldn’t have to knock any up a 3 day fixture with races from around the holiday period would be enough .
By:
As it happens they are cutting back on grade ones, but I don’t think the uk could tell the Irish how to run national hunt racing .
Almost on a daily basis we are messing up ,just look at the last race at ascot yesterday all that prize money good to soft ground on the worlds most prestigious racecourse and only 12 runners. |
By:
9 runners in fact

By:
champion novice hurdle 13 of the 16 entries are elliots and mullins, they could have a mtach race at home over 2 legs home and away to find the winner
By:
No english entries because those grade 1s are not nearly soft enough for our trainers
By:
Henderson and Nicholls should have a look at themselves.
By:
Another mess up from the BHA.
Why is Aintree on Boxing Day? Surely it would make more sense having the new fixture on the 28th once Kempton has finished. |
By:
Good afternoon brandy
Aintree has taken the Huntingdon fixture and it’s good the people of the north west get a chance to go racing on Boxing Day As it happens they are only expecting a crowd of around 6000 but hope in future years that will increase |
By:
Acey maybe you should have a look at the Cheltenham results the past couple of years, perhaps your Jocks eyes might see the reason none of the so called British trainers dare take on the Oirish as you so distastefully call us...Maybe the Haggis has dulled your brain ,I wonder...Anyway as has been proven most years and confirmed by so many from other SHORES having their best horses trained in Ireland , its obvious were the best trainers are......

Getting pathetic with a hand full on here WR regarding their 'were against anything to do with Irish racing' bile. Mullins, Elliot, handicapper you name it. Think this thread brings it all to another level.
By:
I'd like to see the Gd 1 National Hunt races are on the same calibre as Royal Ascot. Also, I think some Cheltenham races are softies and need culling too; soft races are merely escape routes trainers, and anti-competition.
By:
Impossible it’s impossible for any race meeting in the world to compete with royal ascot by a million miles it’s the best racing event on the planet.
By:
I see the royal bond has been downgraded to grade 2 that is surprising perhaps this years race wasn’t to clever but that’s unusual.
By:
Yep, Royal Ascot is quality all round; the prestige and competition is fantastic and 2nd to none. I think Cheltenham could take a leave out of Royal Ascot eg cull some races to increase competition. I'm not one for facilitating any trainer and owner to get a winner for winner sake; a winner in a competitive Grade 1 is worth 10x that of a substandard softie.
By:
Not just the racing impossible is much better but the whole show from facilities, catering, and getting to and from the course.
By:
Anyway time to go out
All the best everyone |
By:
royal ascot have added races from the ascot heath card that wernt good enough for original RA card plus some sprint handicaps that a saturday york wouldnt touch with a barge pole
By:
Good morning 1st time poster
The last time the Saturday of the royal meeting was ran as ascot heath the running order was Fern hill stakes Palan handicap New stakes Ladbroke handicap Ebf classified stakes Brunswick fillies stakes Owen brown handicap Was one of those sprint handicaps the one won by art power ? |
By:
wasnt THE HAMPTON COURT an ascot heath race, now a royal ascot race
By:
It doesn't matter what many novice races in Ireland are called in terms of grade. There is so much depth that beginners chases and maiden hurdles frequently have better fields than Grade 1 novices in GB. See for example the recent Henry VIII chase (G1).
Impossible - Do you think Royal Ascot took a leaf out of Cheltenham's book by adding 5 new handicaps last year? |
By:
I couldn’t be sure 1st time poster but it’s possible the listed new stakes became the group 3 Hampton court as it was for 3 yo over 10 furlongs ged or onlooker could possibly confirm.
By:
The new stakes did become the Hampton court in 2002 the best winner by some way would be white muzzle
By:
Today's card at Leopardstown was poor overall although the first winner is worth noting as is the Mullins who finished second in the second race , the bumper could be a good race as well, as I write I'm starting to question my opening remarks..

Afternoon Jimnast
Keeping healthy thanks, a couple more days in London, then back to Germany and work on Tuesday. I watched a couple at Leopardstown and another at Limerick, but my only bet was Gaelic Warrior (i took 4/9 in a PP shop ). Some good performances the past few days. |
