Race 4 - 1:50pm
THE TANNERS CHAMPAGNE HANDICAP STEEPLE CHASE (CLASS 2) (GBB RACE)
An enquiry was held following a report from the Starter that there had been delay of several minutes before he was able to start Race 4, due to the Doctor not being in position at the start for the off time. The Clerk of the Course, Starter, Senior Racecourse Medical Officer and Racecourse Medical Officer were interviewed. Having heard their evidence, a report was forwarded to the head office of the British Horseracing Authority for further consideration.

Starters fault. Doctor got there on time but the starter told him to walk away 2f from the start, take an interminable number of turns, then approach at a walk, then , dissatisfied, told him to go back and do it all again.

Carry On Doctor location: ‘Borough County Hospital’: Maidenhead Town Hall, Maidenhead, Berkshire Something about pompous doctors, nubile nurses and bedpans suits the Carry Ons a treat – though people who are not familiar with the series will be flummoxed by the daffodil references. |
