A public wealth warning should be issued with anything he rides

It wasn't too pretty to watch that's for sure but we all know what to expect from him.

TBF it wasn't a 'hidden' fact that he was riding this - but punters wanted to back it still at favourite...thankfully Mischief

For the life of me just cannot understand the criticism - sometimes offensively so - of David Maxwell. I admire the man immensely for obviously 'living his dream'. He must spend eye-watering amounts of money every season buying the horses and having them trained by top trainers and if he wishes to ride his own horses so be it. Punters do not have to back his rides and if they do, again so be it knowing his amateur status. The personal abuse he receives I find abhorrent and grossly unfair.

Agree Greenacres , the late John Thorne loved riding Spartan Missile and keeping the ride probably cost him a Grand National by not inviting John Francome but doubt he regretted his decision for a second.

we all say thats shocking but its david so its ok,he thinks he,s good enough to ride against pro,s, so he,s open to same  comment on here

if a pro's riding one of his you're getting 9/4.  if david's on it you're getting 10/3

pays your money, you takes your choice ...

odds on shot for maxwell fans to get stuck in to today,10 to 11 which according to his cult followers means he,s a 1 to 2 shot and your getting rewarded with 10 to 11 for putting your faith in maxwell, ANY TAKERS TODAY ?

Was at Warwick a few years ago and took a picture of David coming over the last on a winner. Sent it on to Philip Hobbs who forwarded it to David.  Got a nice reply from DM thanking me for it together with other bits of news.

The guy has a 21% strike rate and nearly half of his mounts are placed. i know plenty of top jocks who might have given up going to the last - at least he tried something, switched and got the horse interested again - i bet him in the 2 place market and happy enough with that
