We only had childrens programmes from 4 until about 6 and then it closed down until about 8pm in the early 50s. No rubbish for us to be corrupted by.
Robinson Crusoe was different class. Best ever score for any tv show.
Great shout DD. Terrific serial and brilliant theme tune indeed but surely Khachaturian`s Adagio from Spartacus would be a contender for best ever theme tune? And the tv series it was used for was a brilliant series too.

Hammy hamster.
I can only remember Anouska Hempel on the panel of Whodunnit, and in a terrible series called Zodiac where Anton Rodgers was the love interest?
I can't have any of these other themes. The original Black Beauty was a very good series, and had the massive advantage of starring Judi Bowker, who was also different class. It's a shame that she virtually gave up television for the theatre. If Black Beauty was starting now she would be a massive star, whether she liked or not.

All the Hanna-Barbera cartoons, Huckleberry Hound, Yogi Bear, Quick Draw Macgraw, Snagglepuss and many more.
Can't see any mention of CATWEAZLE....or TIMESLIP (with the girl in it who was supposed to be about 12 but was plainly somewhat older!)
Just remembered another two Hanna-Barbera characters...Aton Ant and Secret Squirrel.
What was the name of Secret Squirrels companion?

Do you remember the programs for Schools and colleges we used to watch at school. Remember LOOK AND READ with Wordy which used to have different stories acted out, Sky Hunter was my favourite all about kids trying to stop smugglers stealing Peregrine Falcon eggs.

Muffin the Mule circa 1950. There was only black and white BBC, one channel and it only started at around 3pm when kids could watch.
Cropsick...Yes, two programmes with a cast much older than the characters they played - well, the kids at least!
Recently saw episodes of The Fugitive which were entertaining and, never having seen the final episode way back I caught the last episode and saw the conclusion. I had never known that Gerrard had come round to believing him innocent and that he sympathised with him at the end. When/after the final episode was aired all those years ago the "result" was actually announced at Parkhead, at half-time during a European match, to a huge crowd. "The one-armed man did it"! Such was the fevered interest in the show and the outcome.
Hayden...if you remember Torchy like me, wasn't that the same era as Four Feather Falls?...still remember that for some reason and The Invisible Man (original), Robin Hood, William Tell, Ivanhoe....
Yes tatts , Four Feather Falls was Tex Tucker and his magic guns

I remember Quatermass and Cabin in the Clearing as the two scary ones when I was around 10 or eleven yo. Living in a small farm cottage, the idea of Red Indians attacking in the dead of night when I had to walk back from a friends house in the dark was a bit scary. No lights of course.
