For what it's worth my surgery is similar. However my wee trick if I think it's urgent is to ask for a home visit. It may or not happen but I will get a call from a GP. A sad situation but some of these GP's forget they took an oath and have a duty of care.

Meanwhile I have no problem getting treatment from my dentist who goes the extra mile if in pain. A very nice Muslim chap.

The largest opposition to the formation of the NHS came from GP's. They aren't employed by the NHS

and therefore can run private services . If we had a truly free NHS private practice would be banned.

Same is true of dentistry.

The new form system works really well.

Go online, and fill in a quick form in less time that you would spend waiting for a call to be answered. Get a response within 24 hours with appointment or advice as required.

Hospitals as bad. Referred for a scan, rang up for an appointment to be told we "will call you back when it is your turn to go on the waiting list".

Then told that will take at least 8 weeks for that to happen.

At least they know how to manage the stats.

In 2020, the government's own analysis report told them that lockdowns would cost over 200,000 lives, mainly in the long term due to delayed diagnoses and treatments.

This report was published after the first lockdown.

But they still went ahead and had further lockdowns because they apparently played 'God'.

We know lockdown policy we will kill people but we're going to do it anyway because we believe we're saving this other group of people.

Obviously there are more cynical analyses of why they did it.

Meanwhile, the tories don't want to talk about the NHS and are trying to win your vote based on stopping the boats - because almost 3% of net immigration is made up of people that get here by boat!  ShockedLaugh

George is there any thread, under any circumstances that you wouldn't consider giving your expert Covid opinions on?
This thread is about On line booking of Doctors appointments now, not Covid which started nearly 4 years ago.

Looking back with hindsight, it feels to me that about 50% of people thought the measures taken were too much, of which half of them are incensed about it. The other 50% thought the measures taken were too little, of which half of them are incensed about it.

This says to me that the government got it about right.

Just about to order a prescription that I don't need until Dec 28. The local pharmacy now want 7-8 working days for repeat prescriptions and there are only 12 days until Dec 23 which is the last day I can expect them to be open! We had 3 pharmacies a year ago but both Tesco and Boots have shut leaving just one for a whole town.

Use an online company that ships them direct to your door. I use LloydsDirect. Usually takes about 3 days from ordering to delivery.

Do try to keep up, stewarts rise, it was a response to barstool's post where he spoke about his own personal experience of delays, being told he will have to wait, not just for a scan, but wait for a date for the scan.

Hence my post on what the government knew in 2020.

But they still implemented a policy they knew would kill people.

The tens of thousands of excess deaths in this country since 2021 are not Youtube conspiracy theories, they are official government data, and largely NOT attributed to "covid".

There are still more people accusing the Government of locking down too much than those accusing them of locking down too late. So many opinions are with hindsight. Nobody seems to remember March 2020 when every Government in the world was struggling to know what it was and how serious it could be. In my own view allowing flights to come in from ANY other country from March 2020 until the vaccine was well established was a mistake but so was the stimulus to eating out which was insane from a public health point of view but deemed essential to avoid 5 million unemployed. The NHS has not recovered at all from Covid in the sense that a lot of staff were sick, a lot left in consequence of the poor working conditions and the waiting list has been there ever since.

Surely the £350 million a week we're saving, now that we've taken back control, should be making a difference?

There are still more people accusing the Government of locking down too much than those accusing them of locking down too late. So many opinions are with hindsight.

It should be pointed out that a government pandemic response document already existed, one that had been carefully thought out over many years, and accounted for in the event of up to 700,000 deaths. None of it recommended what they actually did eg lockdowns, destroy education and businesses, cause inflation, etc. Yet we're asked to believe they disregarded it on a whim in favour of what the CCP were recommending?

Nobody seems to remember March 2020 when every Government in the world was struggling to know what it was and how serious it could be. In my own view allowing flights to come in from ANY other country from March 2020 until the vaccine was well established

An interesting post here, because you say they were "struggling to know what it was", yet they absolutely knew from the outset that a "vaccine" was needed? This seems a contradiction imo.

The NHS has not recovered at all from Covid in the sense that a lot of staff were sick, a lot left in consequence of the poor working conditions and the waiting list has been there ever since.

Also tens of thousands of them were ready to walk out of their hobs when they mandated the "vaccines" which did not have any long-term safety data.

"Safe and effective" they told us. Strange how they've quietly withdrawn the AZ one then, eh?

Money's no object, as they showed during the "furlough" period, they just print some more of the funny stuff, devaluing the currency in the process. But hey, it was all for our own good.
