Won easily.
What I don't understand is how that was top weight in competitive handicap. Run poorly in egg and spoon races most of it's career and only lined up in 1 race over £20,000 (tailed off) |

Owner ridden, couldn't wangle that one, wonder if the owner was able to get someone to get a few quid on for himself?

Couldn't rule out a knock out SP job in the shops , they wouldn't scoff at 40/1 as long as you can get on easy enough.
40/1 SP may look below but if you can avoid scrambling for bigger prices and not popping above the radar it's plenty big enough. |

Reminds me of some years ago when a Curley trained horse owned by a friend of his won first time out at 25/1. I think the horse was sold afterwards or moved to the US.

mrcombustible -
Are you thinking of AVISO ... Won 3 times in Germany - including Group2 at Cologne - for, Owner, Gestut Schlenderhan Came to England - Rated 95 ... Had 3 runs for A P 'Andy' Stringer - then transferred to Barney (when now Rated 80) 5 Runs later - and it is down to a 65 Rating (30 lbs Less than when it came to England - 8 outings ago) In it then went at Yarmouth at 6/1 - in a £2k race. |
