It just says that Betfair establish an anchor price,and if the difference is over 7.5% then a beacon will appear. Doesnt say at what point they do this. 7.5% represents a relatively small market move and alot of horses will blow both hot and cold. However, they do say "Roughly one in three of the horses that were identified as shorteners by the Betfair Beacons went on to win."

Don't remember the trial Where would they get the "anchor price" from Snaffled from oddschecker ? With liquidity so poor hours before the event be a bit like the hokey cokey as you said Hulk must have his own beacon screen |

Anchor price is set after certain amounts have been matched
@ certain prices it seems. < 1.25 £1000 1.26 - 1.66 £800 etc. There's a table,can't do links. |

Basically anchor set night before £1000 matched being first trigger for high odds on & amount filters down as odds go down Fairly useless in a low liquidity market If they set the anchor at 10a.m. Or 4 hoursish before race might be worth noting |

Good system cold so far and be many about to back one see a cold symbol and won’t back it lol, minefield until it settles down but in very weak market like we have now it seems 15 years too late

you're assuming market movements offer a true reflection of a horses chances of winning or whether, in very weak markets, someone is messing about with them for whatever reason ... all these snowflakes winning. makes you wonder.
