Yes, been like this for a few days, on Firefox, RTV only (Someone said other browser ok).
ATR just bad as always, other bf video like footy and tennis ok. |

Since September 28 you've needed to use Chrome only for RTV streams.

Concur - much better on Chrome

Racing TV on Firefox, is freezing. Has anyone got any ideas?

There are regular and comprehensive updates from Betfair in the Service Announcements Forum.

ATR feeds are hopeless whichever browser you use and if you think they are ok it's probably because you have the setting on the most delayed (medium) rather than (minimal) which defeats the purpose of using it.
RUK feeds have been poor lately using firefox but are working fine on other browsers. That's it. |

duffy,
Yes ATR always bad, but there was a Firefox update the other week, don't know if that's just coincidence, since then RTV is so bad it's one frame per second or two. ATR is no different for me. |

Someone has kindly taken the time to find all the new bugs and errors and send to Betfair and RTV. https://twitter.com/TheOddsBeater/status/1711420213009227979

and this was their reply
Thanks for waiting! Unfortunately, since these videos are provided by a third party there would not be anything we can do about the lagging. I do apologise for any inconvenience caused. -Martina.G |

I keep asking them as to why they can't ask the third party to improve the product, their response is so lame and makes no sense.
If you are being supplied a product and it doesn't work you don't shrug your shoulders and say oh well!!! you chase the supplier to improve it, especially if you yourself are passing this product on to customers trying to use it. |

Seems The Firefox update has broken Racing UK streams, :( I'm reluctant to use any other browser than Firefox. Combined with all their privacy focused settings and UBlock Orgion (Which you shouldn't go online without IMO) It's frustrating .... Anyone know how we would contact the 3rd party stream provider?

By:
Clearly more of a general problem rather than just Firefox and RTV. Struggling with US streams on Chrome last night.

By:
Live Video is (often) hopeless - but only because they have contracted it out to a 3rd party supplier.
The forum is finnish - but only because they have contracted it out to a 3rd party supplier. The Customer Service is non-existent - but only because they have contracted it out to a 3rd party supplier. There is nothing Betfair can do about any of this - Betfair is blameless ![]() ![]() |
|
By:
It's general practice these days (and not just here at betfair) in our wonderful modern world of business. Find some 3rd party to do the job and then we will be completely blameless in all that goes wrong.
|
|
By:
Customer Service has been in a race to the bottom for about 25 years - the finish line in that race can often be found "outsourced" in Bangalore or Manilla.
It's cheap (on paper) but only if you are a blind/one-dimensional accountant. The real cost of getting everything wrong at the first couple of attempts, the loss of goodwill, the reputational/brand damage, etc make it a completely false economy - but the blinkered accountants still rule the day and they love a good false-economy. The pictures are obviously a separate issue - but you can hardly expect Betfair to chase for improvement or provide any updates if their is a 3rd party supplier. ![]() ![]() |

@TM - are you suggesting BF should have their own cameras at every racecourse (and all the other infrastucture that sits between that camera and the LV on your PC)?
Otherwise, I do not see how they can do other than contract it out to a third party? |
|
By:
I'm not suggesting that longbridge - they are unquestionably reliant on a 3rd party in the case of the pictures - but heaven forbid that they should ever communicate with them or demand a more consistent service!
|
|
By:
I think I may have posted something along these lines before, but I don't see what levers BF have to pull here. ATR must be aware there is little chance BF will tell them where to go and leave half their racing with no pictures at all?
