It depends if you have an e-mail point of contact for the firm involved and also how vindictive you are when somebody p1sses you about (the more vindictive/vengeful you are - the better!)

The most efficient way to get paid quickly (if you do have an e-mail address for them) is to write an outraged (but polite and rational) e-mail outlining the situation and copy in the whole world - The Gambling Commission, The Police, The BBC, Panorama, Watchdog, Crime-watch, Rip-Off Britain, ITV, The Sun, The Mirror, The Daily Mail, The Information Commissioner, Any MP's you have an e-mail for, The Prime Minister, The Pope, Elvis (if you're doing Elvis, you might as well do the Racing Post as well), Elton John, That gay fella off Strictly, etc. etc.  You get the gist.

Ive read about unibet refusing to pay out on the grounds that a bank statement shows a deposit to another betting firm. The statement this firm is asking for will show a few small deposits to other firms. i'm worried hidden in there ts and cs is something similar/same as unibets

"unibet refusing to pay out on the grounds that a bank statement shows a deposit to another betting firm"

I do not think I have seen that - do you have a link to any articles etc?  That seems a strange one.

Why would you even consider sending your bank statement to a "bookmaker"? They aren't regulated by the FCA, how will they store it, how long for, who will have access to it? etc, etc, etc.

They are a "bookmaker" ffs - not the HMRC. You might as well send your bank statement to Nigeria for all the assurances about what will happen to it.

Don't get mad - get even!

I've just withdrawn £250 from Betfair as a test to make sure they still pay back to customers and my request was accepted immediately.  It is supposed to be in my bank in 2 hours and I will check.
But, for the time being, eveything seems OK and by sticking to small deposits and withdrawals I have avoided affordability checks and money laundering checks so far.

Think the "other bookmakers" thing is likely some misunderstanding about affordability but this has nothing to do with refusing to pay. In any case, The Management has the correct advice. Tell them there is no chance they are getting your financial details as this breaches data protection legislation and Gambling Commission guidance. Copy in info@gamblingcommission.gov.uk and request their uk address for service of legal notices.

The "other bookmakers" clause is very clear that it is only when connected in relation to suspected collusion or fraud.

Obvious unfair contract term - OP should add that to his email that copies in the GC. The utter gall of gambling sites thinking they are entitled to make moral judgements of this kind.

Do not bet with Unibet. They are a non-entity in the bookmaking world. Also, would you bet with Hendo? He's sponsored by Unibet; he informed Unibet prior to the racing public on the welfare of Altior before he withdrew the horse from a big race very close to the day of the race.

A standard term is unfair 'if, contrary to the requirement of good faith, it causes a significant imbalance in the parties' rights and obligations arising under the contract, to the detriment of the consumer'– Regulation 5(1). Unfair terms are not enforceable against the consumer.

zero chance that T+C is enforceable.
