It was a hearing that was held last week, the incident happened at the AJ fight in 2021 where McCrory was guest speaker and attending the fight and a three course meal.

I watched an old episode of "Cheers" the other morning where an elated Diane (Shelley Long) when she realised that a poem of hers had been published, ran up to Sam (Ted Danson), clasped his head tightly and planted a huge kiss plum on his lips, looked just like the Spanish FA bloke kissing that footballer in elation after winning the World Cup.
No hint of a sexual assault happening, as you say, mad world! |

Good job the waitress never worked in a Bank in London in the 80s.
The girls were worse than the blokes. |

Hayden in the early morning on Ch 4 you have Cheers, Everybody Loves Raymond and Frasier all following each other, can't say i'm looking forward to the reboot of Frazier though.

Hand on heart I can honestly say I have never watched nor wish to watch any of those 3 programmes.

They'll be getting rid of dialects soon, lest they offend. Possibly peculiar to Leeds but older men call everyone luv, even other men if they're friends.

Hand on heart I can honestly say I have never watched nor wish to watch any of those 3 programmes. Happy I really don't know how anyone can say they wouldn't wish to watch a program they have never seen, a bit like people who used to say they wouldn't eat any of that foreign rubbish ie) Chinese or Indian meals, having never tried it. I would say GC that imo you've missed some of the best comedy series ever written. |

Replies: 2918305 Oct 23 13:00 I would say GC that imo you've missed some of the best comedy series ever written. That would depend on your sense of humour and whether you would enjoy American sitcoms. |
|
By:
Indeed, but how would you know if you haven't watched one?
|
|
By:
Yes stewarts but in my view people here know whether they appreciate American humour or not without even watching these programmes.
|
|
By:
.... Agree Sparrow, seen plenty of trailers for these so called " comedy " shows, cant stand canned laughter for a start, guessing their sense of humour is different from ours, each to their own if you enjoy them, personally would rather spend 30 mins in a dentists waiting room.!

Thank the lord we have different opinions on what we like , such as music , sport , TV shows and even women.
Otherwise what a strange world we'd live in , or should that be strangER ![]() |

I used to watch the American series SOAP 40 years ago and it was a bit hit and miss, some episodes were hilarious others i didn't get so much which is i presume w2hat you'd put down to American humour being different to British and the canned laughter was really annoying but it was so different to British comedy of the time.
Saw Cheers once it came over here and found it very funny from the outset because the characters were so well defined, the script very funny and although set in a Boston bar, could very easily have been set in a Pub in Britain with the different regulars you'd find there. I'd never seen ELR or Frazier until i retired 4 years ago, and remember these programs are from the 90s and early 2000s. Didn't take to Frasier at first probably because i wasn't watching from the start, (probably thought it was a bit too intellectual/high brow for me), but it soon fell into place and now i'd say it's probably the most clever, witty comedy ever written. Everybody Loves Raymond is just a satire of everyday family life with again brilliant scripts and perfectly casted actors, usually i'm laughing so much myself that i couldn't say if there's canned laughter or not. As we all agree everyone likes different stuff but to miss out for the sake of 25 mins in the morning to see if you might like any of them seems a shame. |

For Pub Sitcom see "Early Doors."

Yes that was very good GC, no argument, when was that on, what decade?

|
By:
Anyone know any current American Sitcoms i might like?
|
|
By:
My idea of the "best comedy series" ever written" was Fawlty Towers.
|
|
By:
Fawlty Towers was brilliant sparrow, loved it then still love it, but i wouldn't say it was clever. It was obvious and sometimes slapstick humour, not decrying any of the great British comedies at all, just think some American comedies are just as good.
|
|
By:
Only UK comedy i've regularly watched really with no intention of missing is the political sitcom The Thick of It.
All the others just watched the odd bits and pieces when channel hopping , Early Doors and Porridge were good. |
|
By:
Only Fools and Horses was brilliant comedy from the late John Sullivan.

Rab C was very good,if you had subtitles.
