It's now season after season of hype over quality at virtually every distance.
Hammond, typically, described this as 'one of best' Arcs. It's one of the worst. Dancing Brave's field would have laughed at this cobbled together bunch.
Hukum has never been a superstar, but comes here with every chance. O'Brien relies on a plodder off the back of winning a mediocre St Leger. Several others are just throwing darts because it's such a poor race. The three year olds have been ordinary (yet again) and the sport will no dpoubt be hoping that the favourite justifies the hype.
Many of the supporting races haven't been up to scratch with Group 2 horses (at best) being thrown at Group 1's. It's been the same at Newmarket, and no doubt it won't be much different at Ascot.
You cant have a Dancing Brave every year dd. This years race is a decent renewal. Hukum has won 8 Group races to date and I for one hope he makes that nine today.
