The forecast I saw yesterday was pretty poor for the week however it does seem to have improved certainly for Thursday Friday so hopefully no worse than soft this week ,

According to the latest BBC national forecast, a drying day today, but a band of rain moving eastwards overnight and then another band of rain moving northwards during Thursday night.

At least if it comes overnight it will be pleasant for racegoers

Bit short of runners friday although the flying Childers has held up well and looks an interesting race.

Agree re Friday Jimnast,they do tend to struggle for runners in some h'cps and in fairness to Donny they have improved the prize money although they needed to as its only 4 years ago when Leger day finished with 5,3 & 2 for the final 3 races. Can see quite a few Saturday races running up light too.

Yes can't argue with that,heard the other day they were going back to wed - sat next year but I see they're now expectin 10k Sunday although I'm guessing that'll be in the Siver ring.

I can’t understand why they have already decided no Sunday next year if the crowd there expecting is much bigger than they get Wednesday,although jcr and arc seem to have little interest in getting people through the gates.

Yes,Arc would be happy to run the Leger on one of these twilight Sunday nights no soubt.

The York catterick clash on ayr gold cup day which got a few worked up won’t clash next year neither of them race that day.

Yes I knew York didn't,the Catterick meeting has been there much longer than Ayr,punters would drop in at Catterick on the way home from Ayr as it finished on a Friday.

Ronnie we backed pollys brother anti post for Ayr and when he won the previous weeks Portland it became a long 6 days wandering if he had got the wrong race

Knew a couple of the owners Ronnie although I never backed final shot I got to know the owner very well after he had won the Ayr gold cup a character and whilst not everyone’s cup of tea I could him very good company

Just cheated Ronnie and looked up sparkling boy as I couldn’t recall him I see he was trained by Paul kellaway
