To put some perspective of gambling addiction and how the books 'milk' mugs like Phil Mickelson.

He lost $4m in one day betting on basketball.
He was allowed any amount on until a shrewd punter joined forces with him.
After a 6 month winning spell they did what they always do.
However as the punter couldnt get on anymore the partnership ended.
Phil went back to his addiction and the bookies liked him again.

He likes a gamble but with money he can afford to lose. So he's not a problem gambler, he just has a problem with gambling, he's not as good at it as he is with his chipping.
