Just mentioned this horse the other day in relation to a poster saying how much better thing were decades ago and how the exchanges had corrupted the sport.
Strangely I remember being in a betting shop and listening to the commentary the day Good Hand won by 20l, rarely spent any time in betting shops even back then but a horse that wins 20l on debut just as rare. (Supposedly a 2 yo).
Can you imagine the meltdown on here if it had existed back then?
Some character the owner, got done for plotting to burn down Doncaster Rovers ground in an insurance scam, I dare say a few would have wished him luck!!

Name of horse marks that era as surely as any Derby winner.
Yet he never actually ran in a race.
Owner went on to football and did time for organising an insurance fraud/arson.
Sad news all the same.

It obviously wasn't a very well planned operation, if they had got rid of both horses there would have been no evidence and given the possible pay out value would have been worth it, not to mention the warning off etc.
I remember writing on here a good while back about a ringer at Nicosia, the gang would have got away with it had they been more careful but the chap given the job of getting rid of the ringer was caught trying to bury it by the roadside using a JCB!!
