Pitch charges?
Holiday punters to milk? |

That book for the opening 1.50 race was a crime.
Intrinsic was 11.0 overnight here . I saw 11/4 at one stage |

Wtf has pitch charges got to do with it racecourse bookmakers are not part of the sp the online firms control it it’s what people wanted
By:
On course today was less than 1% a runner most of the time, all prices were better than online
By:
I thought the question was about bookmaker margins at york
not sps. Apologies. |
By:
No worries yhtl since the pandemic things have changed it was meant to be temporary but it’s not ,the online are now allowed to do what they want as ever the racing press wont rock the boat .
Good luck |

Hope all well Celtic matey
First year of York in 12 odd ive been eligible to have a go I won't bother, sad times...did you bet the Maktoum thing? Swad. |
By:
Hi matt,
Of course i did ![]() ![]() |

What i hate is that before any race the tv only references the bookie price albeit
the exchange price is up there too on screen. R there really that many serious punters who dont use the exchanges? |
By:
Matt,
I have fully updated my speed ratings for all weather inc dundalk. Ready to have a real go this winter. |

Having read the piss poor amounts (except in the G1) Star Sports are taking on the rails, I am surprised the margins are not bigger because if you taking under a grand in 100k race then either your prices are poor value or there just isn't the money around. I don't know which it is but perhaps sheds some light why it is so hard to get bets on now.

By:
The bookies shorten up the s/p of nearly every winner.
How many winners are returned at a bigger price than shortly before the off? I've never seen one. Yet the Betfair starting price is often bigger than the last price on offer here. |
By:
There was one the other day dr just forgotten the name won and returned 7/4 absolutely no doubt 9/4 available on course and most probably 5/2 on the off
By:
So either bet on course or on the exchanges is the clear message.
By:
That’s correct sparrow unless you want the extra places, but for win purposes yes
By:
Forza Orta in the 4-10 was a bad one for High St punters, returned 8/1 industry with a BF SP of 13.2.
Everyone has to eat but a 50% difference seems a bit much. |
By:
GC did you notice the World Pool paid just under 17/1 in the first race, 12/1 sp?
By:
By:
Yes i noticed that was about the only one paying more than sp all the others in or about the same.
Tote seems to becoming boring in general now with the Tote wins flashing up on screen as the horse passes the line paying pennys either side of SP in 99% of races, seems as if it has been automated and programmed to death by some very shrewd operatives imo. |
By:
I respect Star, let me ask a theoretical question, iyo what would you have to show them money wise to be able to punt 100 bags?
By:
£100 K swads!!

.... Going to take a few races at that rate to pay back his £590k fine !!

Harsh formy, Celtic a bloke who will form a stratergy and stick to it no matter how good or bad, good person.
I've gambled Dundalk many a Friday night and would have a horrendous record there. Call me naive but I was often looking for things not there...thing apart from ofc the odd gamble the winter form there stands up ok. |
