Farouk De Cheneau. Won all 3 starts this season, heavily tipped up last night with a forecast SP of 6/4 in the Racing Post. Drifted until starting at 9/2, No surprise when it struggled in the race losing touch with half a mile to go.
The only explanation that pops into my head is that people knew it wasn't going to run well and laid it accordingly.
As a backer at 13/8 do I have a right to be upset? Are there more "sporting" reasons that are likely causes for the under-performance?
Nine times out of ten a few minutes before the off when you see the drift on that scale you can normally bet your live that they know it is not going to win!
