Ray Vann has only run 7 times and been placed on 5 occasions in decent sized fields on the AW and seems versatile in terms of the surface, only unplaced efforts came on his first two runs on turf.First run he was 8th of 13 here at 150/1 then went off 7/2 and finished 6th of 7, he returned after a 152 day break and ran well to be beaten only 1l .That improvement has been maintained since with decent places in the context of this race.
Has run only over 7f and once over a mile and drops to 6f this evening following a 3 month break and wind surgery, has been reported to have quirks like swishing his tail, possibly explained if he was struggling with his breathing. Also only ever been ridden by Luke Morris bar once, he can have an effect on horses which could wrongly give the impression the horse is quirky , I predicted Quinalt might swerve at Ascot if he started flapping his arms and it happened.
The horse is not devoid of early speed, has Stefano uo for the first time and drawn on the wing with the possibility he could go over to the far rail which often has an advantage,.
I cannot understand why he is backable at 14/1 4 places in the context of this race having run well off a break previously, if he can carry over his AW form to the turf he should have a decent chance,should he lead and the wind op has worked he could be strong up the last furlong given he also has proven stamina.

1st handicap as well Quixall and not much improvement to find on ratings with the best in the field albeit has to do it on turf, the wind op could be the key with the drop in trip.
I backed Porfin when it won here recently, thought I was possibly lucky as Epic Express didn't get the clearest run. Only a 2 lb swing today but at the prices I've gone for Epic with a saver on Porfin. GL

Yes stew had bog with most but also had in a ew double with Moondial which would have been tidy, was my compy nap but no cigar!!
