Or the international as it’s now known was always something to look forward to at the December meeting however now taken over by unibet the race will be run at the end of January, there doesn’t seem many pluses in racing at the moment.

Tolworth to Aintree on Boxing Day as well.

Will be interesting to see how it works out.

No comparison between Aintree and Sandown hurdle courses. The Tolworth at Sandown was always a good select race with smallish fields. It will get lost on Boxing day with the focus on Kempton

Sandown & Aintree 2 completely different courses.
Should get a new name.

Perhaps they thought the north needed a quality race over the Christmas period.

Unibet have just signed a deal to extend their sponsorship of the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle until 2028, and are sponsoring 3 other race which will be called the Road to Cheltenham, as well as the international [now the Unibet Hurdle] plus The Greatwood and Morgiana Hurdles.

And wouldn't it be nice for Unibet if Constitution Hill stayed hurdling for their sponsorship..... mmmm

It made no sense to have the Fighting Fifth, International and Christmas Hurdles all within 4 weeks. This is potentially a good move.
