There's a French form judge on here. Did he see this horse putting in such a run?

4th in French guineas

Many of them have - if you make a load of allowances for all the 'ifs and buts'

However, I hardly find being - a 6 lengths 3rd of 4 (even if it was in a Group3) - with the Comment ...

'Soon settled last but well in touch, pushed along but no impression over 1 1/2f out, one pace final furlong'

or - 'Held up in final pair, asked for effort over 2f out, soon ridden, driven along and modest late progress inside final furlong, never a threat'

- to be compelling evidence for a bet in a highly competitive £100,000 Handicap

But - each to their own view.

Beaten at 10/3 ON at Chantilly in March.....that was someway below his very useful 2yo form. "Change of scenery" must  have done him good

Incidentally -

The Runner-Up in the French Guineas has since finished ...

10th of 11 - LAST of 5 - 8th of 9 ..... and has been retired and whisked off to Stud  - at just 3,800 euros a pop.
