Quite sad really but sums up how unfair to so many people these gambling commission restrictions are going to be,an elderly man who work all his life now has many illnesses including cancer,he has two pleasures in live watching Liverpool and having a flutter on the horses the 2nd one how now been taken away as he isn’t prepared to disclose his finances.and with respect to him probably wouldn’t know how to .

sounds like they know what you're doing too, winning. which means someone is losing. and if it wasn't them (as it shouldn't be) they wouldn't be quite as bothered by your success as they appear to be.

I think I have had - not that I paid a great deal of attention - one of those "here are our Safer Gambling tools, you might want to use them" emails from pretty much everyone I have an account with - water off a duck's back personally.
Fair enough. Good attitude to have.

The Gambling Commission says in the consultation says 1,000,000 accounts plus will have to give over bank statements or open banking access in order to bet. Most people will (especially losers) will be unwilling to do this.
Result could be a 50% drop in racing's finances and the end of UK racing as we know it.
Betfair exchange racing will continue to decline.
Big boom for the offshore exchange and bookmakers that dont pay levy or much tax.

Looks like they finally worked out what this will mean for UK racing.
The Gambling Commission says in the consultation says 1,000,000 accounts plus will have to give over bank statements or open banking access in order to bet. Most people will (especially losers) will be unwilling to do this.
Result could be a 50% drop in racing's finances and the end of UK racing as we know it.
Betfair exchange racing will continue to decline.

Desperate stuff in England I was listening to the 3 o’clock news on radio two they reported Australia had won in the women’s World Cup and mentioned another team,but no news on the ashes.
Is everyone buying horses at the sales being checked on their income ? ( not just money in the bank )

I saw on the news this morning stamps are now finished as of today however any you have you can exchange like for like but oh no you can’t nip to the post office and do it you have to go online for the address then send in a stamped address envelope usually the new stamps which you have to nip in the post office for.

There is all talk from a lot of people and orgs but no action. Why isn't there a judicial review on the basis of the human rights act being launched. The right to use your property freely and the right to privacy are both in play.
On top of that the GC should be clearly stating that people on means tested benefits should be allowed to bet. That would concentrate minds.

bookies and their pals at the GC have latched onto something that means they have a convenient excuse to profile everyone that bets with them. the pensioner can't have a bet cos joe bloggs stole 100 grand from the company safe and blew it all in 25 minutes on the fobt. do me a favour ffs.

Plus what happens if you have the last leg of a Yankee to win you £10k with a firm and want to lay back on here.

Well Dambuster I can’t see who’s going to bet those ho lose to much can’t bet those who win can’t bet those who beat the price can’t bet,so that leaves those who break even and don’t beat the price,not sure the staff get paid.

The National Lottery started with once a week. Now two I think. But, it has no shareholders. The bookies robbed the vulnerable and gambling addicts with fobt for over two decades. Shockingly T=this theft is still on-going.

The most prominent element is the hypocrisy. Optimising returns to good causes is another way of saying optimising gambling losses to the public, as long as it is via the mechanism of the lottery.
The fine of 'baddie' dished out by the Gambling Commission was allocated to mitigate or reduce addiction or problem gambling. This is misleading and probably a waste of money/resource, why? Because spurious and unqualified individuals setting up entities with no relevant expertise purporting to treat problem gamblers or addicts will access the funds with little or no due diligence done very similar to a large number of entities applying for and getting "bounce back" loans from government during Covid. It would not surprise me if these individuals were related to or worked (or working) within the betting industry.
It's a proven fact the Gambling Commission needs to be radically re-structured or totally dismantled. The present Gambling Commission has too many engrained methodologies not suitable for 2023 and beyond. This quango needs to go, and a qualified head honcho with experience in the Betting industry appointed.

It’s akin to the gender bs. There are something like 0.02% of the public who have verifiable cause to have medical assistance to define sex, yet it’s now a question of pushing an agenda in childhood to ask which sex they believe they are.
Just as all gambling has to be quizzed and scrutinised because of a similar minority who have problems with gambling.

Morning Jimnast just back from my niece's wedding in Scotland the weekend ,wasn't feeling the best all weekend and did a test last night and it confirmed I have Covid again so not exactly full of beans just now, but nothing compered to the first time I got it, was due to go to Galway yesterday with the lads but luckily for them I didn't , so a few days isolation required .
