The horse is an enigma, his last run was miles below his derby performance.

You could even sense he was not going to run at the start of the season.

This reminds me of that Champion Hurdler housed at Mr Mullins' stable. Whenever field work was stepped-out the horse physicality succumbed.

Just retire Desert Crown. He owns horseracing nothing.

Faugheen 'jimnast'. He missed so many intended gigs after pulling a muscle.

I think Desert Crown will not enhance his status against this bunch of more superior younger 3 yr old protagonists.

I must admit I'm surprised Luxembourg is declared unless only runs if Auguste Rodin is an absentee should more precipitation at Ascot next two days.

At the moment I'd side with King of Steel over the Derby winner. Next best is Hukum esp with more precipitation falling at Ascot.

Hadn’t realised faugheen had missed so many gigs impossible

I think he was down to run in that Champion Hurdle prep race in Dec; he was going fine at home until a few days prior when work stepped-up. Maybe his trainer was being bookie "friendly".
Report jimnast July 27, 2023 1:29 PM BST
Sure your right but just don’t remember him like that as he ran plenty of times hardly ever running a bad race.

At this stage I don't think the 3yo's are anything special at all. Auguste Rodin made heavy weather of following up and King Of Steel had a relatively easy task at Ascot. Although winning nicely Waipiro had a terrible trip in the Derby, and palpably didn't stay. I think the whole bunch have plenty to prove. The sport revolves around hype, plenty of which ends up being misjudged.
