Surely this needs a leg check? Probably the best pedigree in a very ordinary race, and any softening of the ground should be a positive. I know the draw isn't great, but the current favourite is only a couple of stalls away. Even with the draw it must be really poor if the market doesn't expect it to be at least challenging for a place.

That didn't look very good. The distance shouldn't have been any problem whatsoever so it looks from the outside as if Marquand has ridden an unfit horse into the ground, and consequently lost any chance of being placed.

Good debut from the winner, not often you see a pedigree like that a sister to Galileo gold on a racetrack
