Horse was reassuring the layers late on "Don't worry I'm not going past"

Jockey and connections seemed very happy afterwards, so presumably they were on each way. I guess they've learned their lesson with this horse by now. It was carrying even more condition than it usually does. Probably puts as much effort into gallops at home as it does at putting its head in front on the track.
Having said that, I'd laid it win-only, and I was having kittens when H Kimber (3) sent Scrumpy Boy clear at the water. "No! Don't give that dog a target to aim at." Turned out Kimber had judged it to perfection. He probably wondered who the sweat-soaked punter madly clapping him into the winner's enclosure was. |

He held it up a long way back early on didn't he screaming?

Yes. I had quite a smirk on my face for the first circuit.

I almost laid it inrunning (which I never normally do) when I saw how far back it started - but got suspicious because it was still trading short so left it - went v short late on.
