interesting really, the best horse ive ever seen is Frankel, but hard to call him a peoples champion, as he was never at backable prices to get that affinity with the horse

Not sure I understand the point of this.

When racing was relatively 'more important' then presumably this would have coincided with the best horse, Arkle.

Since racing has become far less significant Red Rum and Desert Orchid are probably the only two horses to make any impact on the wider public.

You are going to get a list which 99% of the public won't have heard of so how can you possibly flag it under the banner of People's Champion?
